- Supervise and schedule banquet housepersons, assigning tasks according to daily Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Ensure setups are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with Marriott brand and event standards.
- Interpret BEOs and floor plans to verify table configurations, staging, AV placement, linens, and decor are correct.
- Perform pre-function inspections and make real-time adjustments as needed.
- Ensure all event spaces, storage rooms, and service areas are clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Promote safe lifting techniques and proper equipment usage in line with Marriott safety protocols.
- Track and maintain inventory of banquet furniture and equipment (tables, chairs, risers, skirting, etc.).
- Report repair needs, maintenance concerns, and equipment losses in a timely manner.
- Serve as a liaison between Banquets, Event Management, Engineering, and AV teams to ensure alignment and readiness.
- Communicate setup status and changes to relevant teams to support seamless service delivery.
- Be physically present during event setup windows to oversee progress and assist when needed.
- Respond promptly to on-site client or banquet manager requests for adjustments or additions.
- Assist in onboarding and training new banquet housepersons.
- Reinforce Marriotts service culture and support a positive, respectful work environment.
- Maintain daily shift logs, event setup checklists, and performance notes.
- Participate in departmental meetings and assist with operational planning.
- Ensure all banquet setups reflect the quality, consistency, and excellence expected of the Marriott brand.
- Maintain a professional appearance and behavior in alignment with Marriott grooming and conduct policies.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by event volume.
Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Ability to meet standards of appearance. Can communicate well with guests. Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift. Must be willing to pitch-in and help co workers with their job duties and be a team player.
