We are looking for a passionate, extremely focused individual with a strong work ethic who wants to become an integral member of the Cornman Farms Team. Working shifts each week as both administrative assistant and event producer, this individual will be responsible for creating an amazing experience by coordinating all the necessary details to create a truly memorable event! Along with event planning, this role will provide outstanding service to customers by answering questions, handling complaints and facilitating event bookings. This role requires great attention to detail, patience, flexibility and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor at all times.
Description: Part time or full time, Hourly. Evenings, weekends and flexible schedule required. Availability the week of Thanksgiving (we are closed on Thanksgiving day).
Pay Rate: $18 per hour
This position is eligible to participate in the Cornman Farms hourly tip pool. The 2025 tips to date average between $3-$4/hour.

Essential Functions:
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Answers the Cornman Farms telephone line and email inboxes and initially respond to general questions and wedding and corporate event inquiries
- Provides Guest tours and actively works to achieve bookings and sales goals
- Offers inquiries the best options based on their estimated guest count and other information provided
- Handles orders, payments and changes for retail purchases and publicly ticketed events
- Gives exceptional service to all Guests at our events
- Documents Guest feedback
- Handles administrative tasks associated with event booking, including scheduling tours, customer communications, estimate creation, contract development, online invoicing, and deposit collection
- Assembles sales packets and informational materials for tours
- Coordinates mail flow in and out of office (get mail from mailbox)
- Manages ordering, receiving, stocking and distribution of office supplies
- Performs other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing, collating and scanning
- Coordinates the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.)
- Assists with maintaining Cornman Farms calendars and scheduling
- Creates, maintains and improves task card systems and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for office related work
- Maintains Point-Of-Sale stock (flyers, business cards, etc.) on floor and in back stock
- Assumes responsibility for coordinating the regular and scheduled maintenance of office equipment, including computers and copy machines
- Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Identifies and implements process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy through the planning process and event execution
- Attends and takes notes during weekly huddle (meeting)
- Participates in open book management by owning event revenue related lines on Cornman's P&L (profit and loss) sheet; includes forecasting the annual budget and keeping costs in budget
- Supports Cornman Farms principles in Lean Management and continuous improvement
- Conducts all business in accordance with Zingerman's Guiding Principles and Bottom Lines
- Completes Training Passport within the stated timeframes and continues to live the Training Compact
Event Planning Responsibilities:
Supports the Guest in all aspects needed for planning their wedding or corporate event such as:
Vendor Coordination
Beverage selection
Rentals, table/chair set-up and day of event assistance
Creates and maintains event day details, workable floor plans and rental documents and communicates these timely with other Cornman Farms Events Staff as needed
Provides day-of support for events - primarily as client support
Explains the rental items and options that Cornman Farms offers
Discusses layout options create floor plans events
Actively sells package upgrades
Acts as full wedding day of coordinator, including:
Over-see time management of the entire event (ceremony, processional, recessional, cocktail hour transition, grand entrance, speeches, dancing, cake cutting, bouquet toss, toasts, etc.)
Prompt the MC and vendors
Troubleshoot and ensure quality control of set up, including personalized details and decor
Run processional/recessional and music for ceremony and first dances
Acts as hostess for wedding party on event days, welcoming upon arrival, gathering amenities as needed, assisting with loading/unloading personal items
Sets up, serve and clean up after wedding party snacks, lunch and "getting ready" beverages like mimosas
Refreshes beverage station - brewing coffee, restocking coffee drink supplies, emptying trash
Other Functions:
- Assists with events coordination and setup/breakdown as needed
- Serves as a host/server during special functions (Farm Dinners, scheduled tours, etc) if needed
The Success Patterns for this position are:
- At least 1 year of experience in a clerical/administrative role
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in professional event planning or coordination
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in a customer service role
- Experience in a restaurant or events facility preferred but not required
- Experience giving customer service to coworkers and guests over the phone and in person
- Able to type at least 40 words per minute
- Strong skills in data entry, Google Applications, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and the Internet
- Must be able to make decisions quickly and prioritize with consideration for guests and staff
- Self-supervising within the guidance and expectations of divisional management
- Has strong people management and leadership skills
- Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills
