Patient Transport & Concierge - Per Diem

Job Description Summary:

Join our team as a Patient Transport and Concierge Specialist at MaineGeneral, where you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and compassionate environment for our patients, families, and guests. This dual role combines patient transport services with guest concierge support to ensure every person receives exceptional care and assistance from arrival to discharge.

Job Description:

Patient Transport

• Respond promptly to transport requests for patients throughout the hospital.

• Safely move patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to designated areas, ensuring proper handling of any accompanying equipment (oxygen tanks, IVs, monitors, etc.).

• Assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles or clinical areas as needed.

• Monitor patient conditions during transport and respond appropriately to any changes.

• Ensure proper use and maintenance of mobility equipment including wheelchairs, walkers, and stretchers.

Concierge Services

• Warmly greet all guests, patients, and visitors, offering directions, information, and assistance tailored to their needs.

• Answer and route incoming telephone calls with professionalism and confidentiality.

• Coordinate transport support for patients and guests as necessary.

• Support and guide volunteers, providing mentoring and fostering a positive and collaborative environment.

• Ensure privacy and uphold HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines at all times.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a customer service or healthcare setting preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a team-focused attitude.

• Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
