Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kauai community with accessible quality health care. The largest medical center on Kauai, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Its 18-bed emergency department serves as the islands Primary Stroke Center. The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds. Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in the state of Hawaii. The Environmental Services staff at Wilcox strives to maintain a high degree of quality service and health care experience by maintaining a pleasant environment for employees, patients and visitors. Our team ensures that patient rooms and ancillary areas are clean; trash and bio-hazardous waste is safely removed; and clean linen, laundry and floor care are properly monitored. We take pride in conserving energy and increasing the use of green products and techniques, and providing quality services in a cost effective and efficient manner.

As the Environmental Services Technician, you will help our Environmental Services department to provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff and guests at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Your responsibilities include maintaining laundry areas in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition; checking, counting and accurately recording all linen usage, including abused and discarded linen; monitoring linen needs for all stations and making necessary adjustments; verifying all incoming linen from contract cleaners and matching their count with invoices. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and commitment to quality service, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawaiis people.

Minimum Qualifications: One (1) year environmental services related experience. Knowledge of infection control practices.

Preferred Qualifications: Six (6) months environmental services related experience in a hospital setting.
