JOB SUMMARY
The Food Service Worker I at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for supporting the provision of timely and safe food service for customers, including area stocking and sanitation. This role requires strong communication skills to engage effectively within the department and with external customers in daily operations and issue resolution. The Food Service Worker I also utilizes strong organizational skills to complete activities with efficient use of time and budget while ensuring a safe, compliant, and quality food service experience.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Basic Requirements:
Ensures timely, safe food service to customers, plates and serve foods, and stocking of foods.
Washes dishes, silverware, pots, pans, and rack dishes.
Cleans and sanitizes equipment and the facilities.
Maintains the physical area efficiently and effectively.
Including the cleaning and sanitation of all areas.
Remains responsible for maintaining, cleaning and stocking all food service areas.
Maintains the physical area efficiently and effectively; including the cleaning and sanitation of all areas.
Remains responsible for knowing their areas' menu, service standards and procedures.
Interacts with internal and external customers effectively and works to meet and exceed their expectations.
Demonstrates adherence to NMHS' Mission, Vision and Values Statement & to Service Excellence Standards and serves as a role model to staff.
Communications:
Assists in effective communication throughout the department.
Strives to meet our all internal and external customer's needs and expectations.
Interacts in a polite way and responds appropriately with all internal & external customers.
Budget:
Assists in helping management meet budget.
Must use food and supplies wisely.
Uses their time wisely and adheres to the lunch and break schedule.
Safe Food Handling & Sanitation:
Follows proper food safety procedures and properly documents required monitors.
Actively participates in FNS's HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) Program.
Cleans & sanitizes of all areas to meet the State Board of Health Standards.
Assists in the keeping assigned HACCP monitors and all other departmental documents.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent . Required

Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally.
Must have the ability to follow oral instructions.
Must have the ability to be able to read and write English is desirable.
Must possess the ability to work independently, without close supervision.

Must follow the department's grooming, hand washing and food safety standards.
Must maintain a clean, safe, well-stocked work area.
