We are located on 1619 K66 Highway. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and engaged. Position Summary: The Kitchen Lead is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and cleanliness standards are met, and supporting team training and performance. This position acts as the bridge between kitchen staff and management in a fast-paced, high-volume fast casual environment. Key Responsibilities: Daily Operations: Lead kitchen team during service to ensure efficient and accurate food preparation and plating. Open and/or close the kitchen following checklists and procedures. Manage prep lists and prioritize tasks to meet operational demands. Monitor and maintain proper food storage, rotation, and labeling. Team Leadership: Train and coach line cooks and prep staff on recipes, portion control, and food safety. Provide real-time feedback to team members to ensure performance and consistency. Delegate tasks effectively and hold team accountable for cleanliness and execution. Quality & Food Safety: Ensure all dishes meet brand standards for appearance, portioning, and taste. Enforce food safety and sanitation protocols per local health codes and company policies. Conduct regular line checks and temperature logs. Inventory & Organization: Assist in ordering, receiving, and inventory control of food and kitchen supplies. Reduce food waste through proper prep, storage, and portioning practices. Communication: Collaborate with front-of-house and management to address guest issues or special requests. Report equipment issues, staffing concerns, or safety hazards promptly to management. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen; fast casual preferred. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment, food prep techniques, and sanitation. ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain). Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. Physical Requirements: Able to stand for long periods (8+ hours). Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in hot, noisy environments with frequent bending, lifting, and reaching.
