The Hilton BNA Nashville Airport is seeking a motivated and energetic Food Runner & Busser to join our dynamic team. This dual role is critical to our restaurant's success, ensuring a seamless flow of service from the kitchen to the guest and maintaining a clean, inviting dining environment. The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is committed to providing exceptional guest experiences by supporting both our front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
As a Food Runner:
Act as the primary liaison between the kitchen and the dining room, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of all food orders to guest tables.
Organize and garnish plates before they leave the kitchen, ensuring they meet the restaurant's high standards for presentation.
Announce and describe dishes to guests as they are served, answering any immediate questions they may have about their order.
Communicate effectively with chefs and servers regarding order status, special requests, and any potential delays.
Assist in final plate preparation, including adding sauces, garnishes, and side dishes.
Maintain a clean and organized expo line and food pickup area.
As a Busser:
Efficiently clear, clean, and reset tables after guests depart, preparing them for the next party in a timely manner.
Assist servers by refilling water glasses, clearing empty plates, and responding to minor guest needs.
Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the entire dining area, including floors, chairs, and service stations.
Restock service stations with clean glassware, silverware, napkins, and other necessary supplies.
Properly sort and manage dirty dishes, glassware, and linens in the dishwashing area.
Assist with basic opening and closing duties, such as setting up the patio, stocking stations, and end-of-night cleaning tasks.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience in a restaurant environment is preferred, but we are willing to train a motivated candidate with a great attitude.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to work cooperatively with a diverse team of servers, hosts, and kitchen staff.
Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
A positive attitude and a commitment to teamwork are essential.
Must be reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (6-8 hours).
Ability to lift and carry trays of food, bus tubs, and other items weighing up to 30-40 lbs.
Must have the physical stamina to handle continuous bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift.
Ability to work in a potentially noisy and crowded environment.
Fundamentals:
This is a high-energy position that requires full mobility, constant movement in a fast paced environment. Basic English communication skills are needed. This position also requires the ability to regularly lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Schedule:
Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
