The University of South Alabama's Housing department is seeking to hire an Environmental Services Aide I. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions

• Cleans University housing areas both upstairs and downstairs to include rooms, apartments, classrooms, hallways, chaseways, and landings.
• Sweeps, mops, waxes and vacuums floors.
• Cleans, waxes and polishes furniture.
• Dusts furniture.
• Disposes of waste paper.
• Washes windows.
• Replaces supplies.
• Cleans appliances and dehumidifiers.
• Reports damage to structure and equipment to supervisor.
• Moves furniture and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Delivers supplies, runs errands, and travels to various work sites by walking and using a University vehicle.
• Scrubs and cleans restroom areas, common areas, commodes, urinals.
• Applies deodorizers and germicides in proper areas.
• Refills soap dispensers, towel and toilet tissue holders.
• Polishes mirrors, plumbing fixtures and cleans light covers.
• Uses a ladder to clean light fixtures covers, windows and glass dividers.
• Cleans stoves and other appliances using applicable cleaning agents.
• Checks linens in and out.
• Follows appropriate procedures when handling biohazardous materials.
• Performs work indoors and outdoors and in inclement weather.
• Collects, loads, and removes trash and debris around the residential facilities, grounds, chaseways, and landings.
• During peak times collects, loads, and removes trash in all residential areas.
• Regular and prompt attendance.
• Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
• Related duties as required.
