Job Description
The University of Tennessee's Career Gateway is looking to fill the temporary assignment of Custodian with the University Housing. Through temporary assignment placements, Career Gateway allows the opportunity to work with various departments while gaining valuable work experience. Each assignment has differing pay rates, work schedules, and lengths of assignments. The length of assignments is subject to change. Please note that Career Gateway temporary positions do not have , annual leave, or sick leave accrual.

Rate of pay: $15.00/hour
The position will help maintain all University Housing facilities in a safe, clean, and sanitary condition.
Responsibilities
General Public Area Cleaning: Clean public areas including but not limited to: lounges, stairwells, lobbies, hallways, recreation rooms, laundry rooms, and multi-purpose rooms; Sweep, mop, vacuum, strip/wax hard surface flooring. Perform carpet care and cleaning. Dust surfaces. Remove trash and recyclable material.
Restroom/Bathroom Cleaning: Clean and disinfect student/residential, staff, and public bathroom/restrooms.
Miscellaneous Duties: Unload supplies; Write up maintenance/custodial work orders. Move furniture. Install mattresses. Wash linens. Turnover guest apartments. Perform special event set-up and takedown.
Exterior Grounds Keeping: Pick-up and remove trash. Weed flower beds. Clean concrete surfaces and walks. Remove snow and ice from walkways.
Minor Maintenance: Perform touch-up painting. Replace baseboards. Repair custodial equipment. Replace light bulbs.** THIS POSITION REQUIRES AVAILABILITY FOR OVERTIME HOURS
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Less than one year
