Shift:** PT, 8 hour days**JOB SUMMARY:**Responsible for preparing and serving food for hospital patients, employees and guest of the hospital, in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, the facilitys established policies and procedures, and as directed by supervisory staff. Maintain highest standards in quality of food products, food service, safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, and in work performance. Perform other assigned duties.**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**Prepare food according to:- Planned menus, established portion control procedures, quantity recipes, and established time schedule- Use food preparation methods that conserve nutritive value, flavor and appearance.- Use standardized recipes based on correct portioning values.- Serve food according to: Planned menus, established portion control procedures, established time line schedule, proper nutritional guidelines. Ensure that the served meals are complete and accurate according to menu, diet and food preferences.- Use proper techniques and procedures to ensure safe working conditions. Maintain habits of good personal hygiene and follow rules of conduct.- Perform daily task in accordance with universal precautions, infection control, safety, and sanitary policies and procedures.- Maintain patients' dignity, respect patients' rights, and maintain confidentiality of their communications and medical record information.**QUALIFICATIONS:**EDUCATION AND TRAINING- Minimum of high school diploma or GED- Follow oral and written directionsMINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE- Previous health care food service experience, or completion or appropriate training program preferred.**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**- Normal or corrected hearing and vision.- Ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures of food.- Ability to read and write in English.- Ability to communicate with employees, patients, and guests.- Ability to remain calm under stress.- Standing on feet for long periods of time.- Walking, reaching, and bending.- Grasping ability and fine hand coordination.- Pushing and pulling.- Ability to adjust to changes in temperatures.- Handling of strong chemicals.- Must be able to lift, push, or restrain persons up to 300 lbs either individually or with assistance of others.PHYSICAL WORKING ENVIRONMENT- Well-lighted, well-ventilated work areas- Works under stress and under the conditions that normally exist in a hospital.
