Food Service and Catering Assistant, Full-Time (University of Charleston)

The University of Charleston is looking for an energetic and optimistic team member to fill the role of Food Service and Catering Assistant . Primary Functions: Responsible for staging, delivering, setting-up, cleaning-up and retrieving the days catered functions, staging and setting-up future functions and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the catering areas and vehicles. Will also need to be available to work events and keep areas that are adjacent to Food Service locations clean and tidy. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSTION: Stage, deliver and set-up caterings as scheduled Retrieve equipment, supplies and food items from day's caterings Maintain cleanliness, security and ensure routine maintenance of catering vehicles Breakdown all products retrieved from catered events Maintain cleanliness of catering areas Stage future caterings Restocks all catering supplies and makes note of any items that need to be ordered Other duties as required and assigned Assists with cleaning dining areas including washing tables and chairs, cleaning the floor, cleaning any flat service surfaces, discarding trash and maintaining sanitary work area Follow and adhere to all sanitation and safety standards Perform other duties as assinged PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Able to read, write and perform basic math Able to follow verbal and written instructions Must be customer-oriented, organized and detail oriented Ability to work with a deadline and on multiple activities at a time Able to work flexible schedule Able to routinely lift 30 pounds Possess a valid driver's license High standard of personal hygiene Benefits: Health Insurance (Medical, Dental and Vision) Life Insurance 403(b) Retirement Plan Vacation Accrual Sick Accrual Paid Holidays Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Tuition Benefits To apply for position, send cover letter and resume to: University of Charleston Attention: Sara Sturgen, Resident Director 2300 MacCorkle Avenue, SE, Charleston, WV 25304 [Link available when viewing the job]
