Summary: Assists in the maintenance and repair of slot machines and other gaming and non-gaming-related equipment.
The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists other technicians in the diagnosis and repair of faulty slot machines and other gaming and non-gaming-related equipment.
- Maintains and cleans machines; replaces worn parts.
- Responds to calls from the gaming floor regarding malfunctioning machines.
- Cleans and repairs spare parts in the shop in order to keep parts available to repair machines.
- Moves slot machines to various locations on the gaming floor; runs wires.
- Maintains documentation of repairs; completes shift logs, preventative maintenance logs, and other forms and documents.

Required Knowledge of:
- Processes, principles, and procedures of mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair.
- Theory and methods of electrical and electronic gaming operations.
- Computer hardware and software applications.
Required Skill in:
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
- Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and technical manuals.
- Operating computer hardware and software applications.
- Oral and written communication.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
- High School Diploma, and six (6) months of electronic or mechanical maintenance and/or repair experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must successfully pass a test to demonstrate knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair.
- High-security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of or receive, certain health vaccinations.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in a repair shop and gaming environment, with occasional exposure to tobacco smoke and loud noise.
- Work is subject to sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Work is subject to frequent use of hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Equipment and Tools Utilized:
- Equipment utilized includes a personal computer, standard office equipment, and hand tools used in the installation/maintenance/repair of slot machines, electronic test equipment, audio/video equipment, telephone, two-way radio, hand trucks, and department vehicles.
