Description

Essential Fuctions:

Assists journeyman or independently inspects, repairs, and services electrical or plumbing fixtures and other equipment

Examples of Duties

Examples of Work:

UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION

Uses a variety of hand and power tools in performing maintenance on equipment, buildings and other structures

Repairs, replaces or rebuilds water pipelines or drains

Repairs or rebuilds locks to ensure security of city property

Operates a variety of machinery such as backhoes, drill presses, or jackhammers

Cleans and services tanks to ensure that pumps and equipment are kept in proper working condition

Performs related work

Minimum Requirements

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work

Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds

Lifts and carries items weighing over 50 pounds in a team setting

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or the equivalent

Must have two years of maintenance work experience

Other Minimums:

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license

Equivalency:

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
