Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation: Starting wage $17.66, adjusted based on experience
Benefits: Seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.
Job Summary:
As part of the culinary team, food service workers responsibilities include all aspects of food service, including food prep, cooking, serving, and cleaning tables & chairs after use, stocking, and working as a cashier. Responsible for serving food to customers, cooking food, or preparing food items--such as sandwiches, pizza, salads, and ice cream dishes--using standard formulas or following directions, preparing, and packaging food orders, taking customer payments, setting up and stocking preparation area, performing cleaning duties, including washing dishes and items used in food preparation. Provide resort hospitality standards.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Serve hot and/or cold food and beverages to customers
Set up and stock food service and/or preparation areas at beginning of day/ shift
Break down kitchen & dining room areas at end of shift, take out trash, recycle and compost, sweep & mop floors
Prepare sandwiches, pizzas, or other foods to order. Slice meats, cheeses and vegetables, fry frozen items, toast items in a turbo oven or deli toaster, prepare condiments, and wrap/arrange food items for service
Perform cashier tasks, and take payment from customers
Package foods and arrange on trays for service
Distribute food, beverages, and supplies to various food service outlets
Assist in ordering inventory, fill orders for individual outlets, keep necessary records and files on inventory and deliveries, load and unload food and supplies
Assist with other food service and/or preparation tasks as assigned
Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external). Follow the Resort Etiquette Guidelines & uphold resort Hospitality Standards while interacting with the guests and coworkers, respond to all guests & fellow staff members in a courteous, efficient manner
Perform other tasks as assigned
Assist with dishwashing tasks, organizing and putting away clean dishware etc.
Maintain a clean work environment
Adhere to Killington's food safety standards
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Basic education (high school)
Relevant restaurant or other food service experience preferred
Vermont Department of Liquor Control certification
Three months of guest service experience in a restaurant, resort, private club, or tourism environment required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Must maintain neat appearance consistent with local Health Code Standards
Ability to deal with customers and staff in a courteous and efficient manner, and ability to deal effectively with impaired customers
Possess a willingness to consistently communicate in a positive manner with coworkers
Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
Basic knowledge of dining room and bar operations, including waiting tables, hosting, bartending, and cashiering
