School Custodian

Suttons Bay Public Schools is hiring a full time year-round custodian to work either during the day or in the evening. Candidates must be hard-working, self-motivated, and have a positive attitude. Candidates must be able to develop a positive rapport with staff, students, and community members who are in the district for after-school activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs general, routine custodial duties, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies;
• Oversees routine maintenance of custodial equipment and restocking of supplies;
• Empties trash cans and disposes trash into dumpsters;
• Ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas and that school is properly secured at the end of the shift;
• Reports needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders and checking supply levels;
• Other duties as assigned;

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Ability to physically perform all responsibilities
• Strong commitment to the school’s vision and core values
• Ability to pass a background check
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Full time year round position
• Monday - Friday
