About the position:
The Line Cook and Lead Line Cook will be part of our culinary team at the Evergreen Golf Course and are responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food in accordance with recipes, standards, and safety regulations. You will work alongside other kitchen staff to ensure that all dishes are prepared quickly, efficiently, and with the highest level of quality. The Lead Line Cook will mentor and guide junior cooks, coordinate kitchen activities, and help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen. These positions require attention to detail, time management, and the ability to maintain a clean and organized workstation.
Responsibilities:
*Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to restaurant recipes, ensuring consistency and presentation.
*Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and plating to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
*Ensure that food is prepared and served in a timely manner, even during high-volume service periods.
*Work closely with the Chef and other team members to ensure smooth operations and the efficient flow of the kitchen.
*Assist in managing inventory, checking stock levels, and ensuring that the kitchen has the necessary supplies for daily operations.
*Ensure that the kitchen is kept clean, organized, and in compliance with health and safety standards.
*In addition, the Lead Line Cook will oversee and direct the activities of line cooks, ensuring they are working efficiently and maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications:
*Previous experience in a kitchen environment or as a line cook or lead line cook.
*Knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety practices.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
*Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
*Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
*Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
*Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications:
Food Handlers Certification, ServSafe Certification or equivalent.
