TITLE: NIGHT LEAD CUSTODIAN

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED), required.

• Valid MN driver's license.
• Possesses, or has the ability to obtain within 2 years, a MN Dept of Labor 1st Class Boiler License.
• Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force.
• Experience with personal computers and software and the ability to learn district systems.
• Knowledge of and demonstrated skills in the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in HVAC, building and boiler maintenance, building automation systems, and energy management systems.
• Demonstrated customer and human relations skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Day Lead Custodian

JOB GOALS: To maintain the physical school facility in a condition of operating excellence, operating efficiency, cleanliness, and safety so that full educational use of the facility may be made at all times.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises and participates in the daily cleaning and maintenance of the building.
• Directs custodial staff to include custodial substitutes in the absence of the Day Lead Custodian.
• Ensures that rooms and areas are ready for scheduled activities and are returned to ready for school condition.
• Assists Day Lead Custodian to make sure building security issues are resolved on a daily basis.
• Submits and completes online work requests in a complete and timely manner
• Ensures that all cleaning equipment is maintained and ready for use.
• Assists in and helps arranging for moving furniture and/or equipment as required for various activities as directed by the Lead Custodian or Principal.
• Complies with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, recycling, and hazardous waste.
• Complies with health and safety codes, to include Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards to ensure safe and healthy working conditions.
• Conducts snow removal activities, shoveling and snow blowing in coordination with the Lead Custodian as needed.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
