About the Role:
The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. This position is essential for the smooth operation of the food service environment, as it directly impacts the efficiency of the kitchen staff and the overall dining experience for customers. The Dishwasher will be responsible for adhering to health and safety regulations while performing their duties, contributing to a safe and hygienic workplace. By efficiently managing the dishwashing process, the Dishwasher helps to minimize downtime in food preparation and service. Ultimately, this role supports the broader goals of the establishment by ensuring that all kitchen operations run seamlessly and that guests receive high-quality service.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to read and follow instructions in English.
- Experience in a food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items, as well as stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of proper sanitation practices and food safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Sort and stack clean dishes and utensils in designated areas for easy access by kitchen staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, including proper disposal of waste and recycling.
- Assist in the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas, including sweeping and mopping floors as needed.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills:
The required skills for this position are essential for performing daily tasks effectively. Basic reading skills are needed to understand cleaning instructions and safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health regulations. The ability to lift and carry heavy items is crucial for moving large pots, pans, and stacks of dishes, while standing for extended periods is a fundamental aspect of the job.
