HOURS: The position is scheduled to work four (4), ten (10) hour shifts with at least one weekend shift.

DUTIES:
The Food Service Worker assists in the planning, preparation, and delivery of meals to family members and staff.
Assists in planning menus; determines amounts to be prepared and utilization of leftovers.
Operates ovens, steamer kettles, mixers, food slicers, toasters and other food preparation equipment.
Ensures that food service equipment, supplies and work areas are maintained and sanitized.
Inventories and requisitions supplies.
May be assigned to serving line, dishwashing, or other related duties.
All other duties as assigned by the Food Service Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience in food service to include employment in a full-time position.
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required and correctional food service experience is preferred.
The successful candidate must pass a background investigation.
Ability to read and interpret menus and recipes.
Ability to adjust recipes for quantity and specialties.
Ability to coordinate preparation of food items to meet meal deadlines.
Ability to operate institutional food preparation equipment.
Physical ability to perform duties in a kitchen.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent inter-personal skills.
