Housekeeper Newport, RI
Compensation: $35-40/hour + Full Benefits, Simple IRA, and Potential Discretionary Bonuses
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts - must be flexible for longer hours as needed
A fully staffed, high-profile estate in Newport, Rhode Island is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join a small, collaborative team. Candidates must have prior experience working in large estates as part of a team and demonstrate excellent judgment, discretion, and professionalism in a private home setting. The ideal candidate is warm, friendly, and an exceptional team player who works well with others and understands how to read a roomcleaning only when appropriate and maintaining discretion around principals and guests. This role requires a sharp eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a pristine and well-presented home.
Key Responsibilities:
-Perform daily housekeeping duties, including deep cleaning, dusting, polishing surfaces, and maintaining wood floors using approved products and methods
-Care for fine linens, make beds to standard, and manage laundry, ironing, and garment care
-Maintain cleanliness of hallways, stairways, and designated household areas
-Clean and organize refrigerators, check and restock household supplies as needed
-Ensure doors and furnishings are spotless and arranged per family preferences
-Report damages, stains, burnt-out bulbs, or unusual activity to the Estate Manager
-Work cooperatively with housemen, chefs, and other household staff during events and daily operations
-Follow safety protocols and attend scheduled departmental meetings
Qualifications:
-Prior experience working in a large estate as part of a housekeeping team
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure
-High level of discretion and understanding of professional boundaries
-Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and attentive to detail
-Valid driver's license, personal vehicle required (mileage reimbursement provided)
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
-Willingness to be flexible with schedule, including weekends, holidays, and travel
