Facilities Operations Technician

A global leader in data center infrastructure is seeking a Facilities Operations Technician for a contract role through the end of September 2025 . This technician will support critical site operations at a high-availability facility. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with 480V AC electrical systems , air-cooled chillers , or other key infrastructure supporting uptime in mission-critical environments.

responsibilities:

Operate and maintain data center infrastructure, including electrical and HVAC systems

Perform routine and corrective maintenance on 480V switchgear, UPS, PDUs, chillers, CRACs, and more

Monitor systems and respond to alarms via BMS (Building Management System)

Support system testing, emergency repairs, and vendor coordination

Ensure safety protocols and data center SOPs/MOPs are followed

Maintain daily logs, incident reports, and equipment status updates

Participate in shift turnover and communicate operational issues

Qualifications

• 5+ years in facilities, critical infrastructure, or data center operations
  
  
• Experience with either:
  
  
• Electrical systems (480V AC, switchgear, UPS, PDUs), or
  
  
• Mechanical systems (air-cooled chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, HVAC controls)
  
  

Ability to read schematics and technical manuals

Familiarity with BMS systems and data center protocols

Safety mindset and problem-solving skills

Schedule Details

• Training Period: Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts
  
  
• Post-Training Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts on a 4-3-3-4 schedule
  
  

The essential functions of this role include:

working up to 4 hrs of overtime per week
