Position Overview and ResponsibilitiesThis forward-facing community position serves as a key support role for both the Middle School and High School. The School Receptionist will be the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors, helping to create a welcoming and professional environment. This position is an hourly, 10-month staff position with benefits. Working hours are 7 am to 3:30 pm on days when school is in session. The School Receptionist will:Manage front office operations.Assist with attendance and communication.Provide general administrative support to administrators in the Brother Keefe C.F.X. Center for Academics and members of the Student Life team. Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.Answer, screen, and direct phone calls and emails to appropriate personnel.Monitor visitor access and ensure sign-in procedures are followed.Provide administrative support to school staff, including data entry, filing, and scheduling.Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information in compliance with school policies.Skills and CompetenciesStrong interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced school setting.Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skillsEducation and ExperienceAssociates degree requiredExperience in a front desk, receptionist, or administrative support role preferred.Experience in a school or educational setting is preferred.Proficient with Google Workspace.Familiarity with student information systems (SIS) and basic data entry tasks.Physical Requirements:Standing/sitting for long periods of time.Must be capable of adapting to frequent changes in position throughout the workday.Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone.Use of hands and fingers for manipulation, and using computer keyboard, educational tools, play equipment, and perform first aid and CPR.Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.St. Johns Prep is committed to building a diverse and inclusive campus community.
