Position overview:
As a Barista at Holsem Cafe, you will be the face of our brand- crafting beautiful coffee, creating an engaging experience for every guest, and contributing to a welcoming, high-energy environment. We're seeking someone with barista experience who thrives in a busy setting, is eager to grow, and loves sharing the joy of great coffee and good company.
Key Responsibilities:
* Greet guests warmly, offer recommendations, and create personalized and memorable guest experiences
* Prepare a variety of specialty coffee and espresso-based beverages with precision and care
* Serve and maintain a curated menu of food items with attention to presentation and quality
* Maintain an organized, clean, and well-stocked bar and cafe environment
* Uphold Holsem's quality and hospitality standards through all stages of service
* Contribute to daily cafe tasks such as restocking, dishwashing, cleaning, and inventory
* Collaborate positively with your team to ensure smooth and efficient operations
* Stay current on our seasonal offerings, preparation techniques, and sustainability efforts
Qualifications:
* Minimum 1 year of barista experience in a cafe or coffee shop setting
* Full-time availability (30 hours/week), including weekends and holidays
* Strong hospitality instincts with a friendly and engaging demeanor
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
* Excellent communication and multitasking skills
* Basic math and computer proficiency (POS systems)
* Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds as needed
* California Food Handler's Certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in a busy hospitality-focused environment
* Enthusiasm for coffee education and sustainability
* A collaborative, can-do attitude and a desire to grow within the team
