Housekeeper - Fairview Healthcare**
Position Overview
Ensure a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout the facilityincluding patient rooms, common areas, offices, and bathroomsin accordance with healthcare cleanliness and safety standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Routine cleaning tasks: Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, disinfect high-touch surfaces, clean restrooms, bedrooms, waiting rooms, and administrative areas.
Waste management: Empty trash and biohazard containers, transport waste safely, and follow disposal protocols.
Supply maintenance: Replenish linens, soap, paper, and other essential supplies in rooms and utility closets.
Equipment upkeep: Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (e.g., buffers, vacuums), report any malfunctions or breakages.
Infection control: Follow prescribed sanitization and PPE procedures to minimize risks for patients and staff.
Documentation and communication: Record completed duties, report safety issues, maintenance needs, or supply shortages.
Team collaboration: Work with housekeeping leads, nursing staff, and facility operations to support daily and deep-cleaning needs.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior housekeeping or environmental services experience, ideally in healthcare, preferred but not mandatory.
Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks (standing, bending).
Familiarity with chemical cleaners and following Safety Data Sheet (SDS) guidelines.
Attention to detail, reliability, and capability to work independently or within a team.
