The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is in the famed Deer Valley ski resort and approximately 40 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport. A Lead Cook requires in-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations. Capable of producing a consistent product to meet and exceed guests' needs in a timely manner. On a daily basis must monitor food production, quality and consistency, staffing levels and department training. A Lead Cook must have skills and knowledge to include culinary education, cost control, communication skills, organizational skills, guest contact experience and culinary teaching skills and knowledge.

The goal of the Lead Cook is to manage the department, implement and maintain quality standards. In some instances, the Lead Cook will be expected to be responsible for the entire operation. The ideal Lead Cook will accomplish their tasks by monitoring the daily functions of the culinary department, providing support and guidance to the culinary team, ending in a positive guest experience.

  • In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations
  • Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills
  • Experience with training, basic financial management and customer service
  • Proficient in general computer knowledge
  • A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment

  • Strong training and communication skills.
  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including AM & PM shifts, weekends & holidays. Schedule flexibility preferred
  • Must have current Alcohol server certification and/or food service permit as required by local or state government agency. Food service and/or other certification as required
