Head Groundskeeper Nashville SC Nashville, TN Job Details Part-time | Full-time Estimated: $32.8K - $36.8K a year 17 hours ago Qualifications Groundskeeping Horticulture Bachelor's degree Senior level Full Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW: The Head Groundskeeper will be responsible for oversight and performance of field maintenance at GEODIS Park, Curry Ingram Academy, and The Vanderbilt Health Training Center. The Head Groundskeeper will have expertise in the groundskeeping occupation requiring considerable knowledge of grounds maintenance, equipment and tools and techniques. The Head Groundskeeper will be experienced in turf grass science and landscape architecture. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for all aspects of field maintenance at GEODIS Park, Vanderbilt Health Training Center and Curry Ingram Academy including, but not limited to, mowing, fertilizing, weed mitigation and painting lines. Plan, coordinate, and monitor all turf care and projects related to Nashville Soccer Club. Supervise and schedule all turf care staff. Coordinate daily, weekly, and long-term project assignments. Main point of contact for field covering installation for concerts. Responsible for ordering and maintaining all products necessary for grounds maintenance. Identifies turf grass diseases, weeds, pests and takes appropriate action to correct these issues. Ability to schedule grow light operating system. Works with VP of Facility Operations on annual budget. Work directly with the Head Coach and General Manager to provide strategic oversight into field rotation and practice sites at facilities. Create and manage all department OSHA safety guidelines and regulations. Operates light duty vehicles, mowers, etc. Supervise installation of all fields. Create good working relationships with Soccer Operations staff including coaches and players. Work with Special Events Sales team to create revenue generating opportunities on the pitch. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage six (6) full-time groundskeepers and multiple part-time groundskeepers. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Turf Grass Science, Horticulture, or related field. Prior groundskeeping experience in the mid-south region preferred. Five (5) years of relevant experience in professional/collegiate athletics with two (2) years of lead experience preferred. Knowledge of equipment and procedures of grounds construction and maintenance. Familiarity with care and maintenance with artificial turf surfaces. Prior experience with Field grow lighting system. Ability to operate turf-related equipment such as mowers, tractors, aerifiers and field paint machines. Extensive knowledge of techniques of planting and maintaining plants, trees and shrubs where needed. Able to work non-traditional hours in non-traditional settings within a team atmosphere. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
