The County Civil Courts at Law Receptionist provides attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests and/or customers and handles inbound phone calls received.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer, screen and transfer incoming phone calls received on a multi-line phone system in a professional matter to the appropriate personnel in the Harris County Clerks Office.
- Processes mail by collecting, routing and filing accordingly.
- Welcomes customer, visitors, and staff and clients upon arrival at reception.
- Research case details in the courts database to assist customers.
- Assist the general public by providing basic and accurate information, and direct in-person customers to the appropriate personnel and office.
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures in opening and closing the office while ensuring all customers have left the office.
- Responsible for providing access and turning on/off computers for public use.

Education:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g., multi-line phone system).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must demonstrate professionalism, proper customer service and excellent telephone etiquette.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
