Summary of Responsibilities:
The bartenders' primary responsibility is to welcome guests, take orders, and prepare and serve food and beverage items to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner following quality standards. The bartender must maintain supplies and follow hotel cleanliness and sanitation guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities and Objectives:
Greet, welcome, and interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner
Take orders, prepare drinks according to recipes, and serve all food and beverage requests in the bar
Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu
Prepare the bar for service by ensuring bar supplies, garnishes, and utensils are properly set up per quality standards
Inventory unused liquor and beverages. Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at the close of the shift
Adhere to all cash handling and credit card policies and procedures. Ensure that all drink orders from servers are accurately rung into the P.O.S. System
Clean and reset bar top and tables immediately after guest department
Complete all closing duties and reports as assigned
Secure all liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas
Adhere to the established safety and sanitation guidelines
Adhere to uniform and grooming standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED is preferred
Experience as a bartender required, preferably in a high-volume bar
Experience with computerized cash registers preferred
Skills and requirements:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to diffuse conflict within the bar
Developed problem-solving skills required
Organization skills required
Advertise the daily, weekly, and monthly promotions of the bar
Ability to professionally and efficiently handle customer complaints
Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment
Scheduling:
Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside of business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays
May be required to be on-call and aid during staffing deficiencies on-site
Environment:
Exposure to an environment typically found in a hotel or restaurant
Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions
Physical Requirements:
