Housekeeper - Lake Highlands YMCA

Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, operational, and attractive condition to meet the satisfaction of our members. This role involves daily cleaning and maintenance to ensure that all areas of the facility remain pristine and functional.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sweep, mop, dust, and clean the facility daily to meet the needs of members.

• Clean and maintain floors, carpets, walls, windows, tiled areas, showers, restrooms, and other surfaces.

• Replace supplies such as soap and paper towels regularly.

• Empty waste bins and ensure waste is disposed of properly.

• Perform all housekeeping duties as assigned, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are met.

• Report any building maintenance problems to the Senior Program Director.

• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure adequate stock levels.

• Follow a preventative maintenance and cleaning schedule to ensure the facilitys equipment is in peak operational performance.

• Minimum of six months of experience in housekeeping or similar cleaning work.

• Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and procedures.

• Basic knowledge of maintenance and facility upkeep is helpful.

• Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties.

• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

• Ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely, including the ability to read labels, MSDS information sheets, and instructions.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve potential safety and security issues.

• Ability to handle demanding situations with a calm and courteous demeanor.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to maintain cleanliness and order within the facility.
