Position: Cashier and Guest Services
Location: Industry City, Brooklyn, NY (254 36th Street, Brooklyn NY, 11232)
Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 3:30 PM (including a hour paid lunch break)
Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Compensation: $16.50/hour + Tip Pool Participation
Reports to: Front of House Manager

Ends Meat is a Whole Animal Salumeria and Butcher Shop (and prepared foods retailer) with locations in the NYC metro area. We focus on whole animal butchery, working exclusively with regional farms committed to sustainable and regenerative agriculture. Our mission is to provide high-quality fresh butchery, farm-fresh produce, fermented products, and hot lunches, alongside our traditionally inspired dry-cured meats.
Job Summary
Cashier and Guest Services play a critical role in ensuring the success of Ends Meats morning and mid-day operations. This team member is responsible for setting the tone of the day with exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and ensuring the efficient execution of breakfast and lunch service, cashier operations, and grocery inventory management. This position is ideal for a reliable and motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic service setting and takes pride in guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Breakfast Service Setup and Breakdown
Collaborate with the Morning Kitchen Manager to set up the breakfast service line, including stocking, prepping the service area, and ensuring a seamless and high-quality guest experience. Clean up and reset the space following breakfast service.
Cashiering During Breakfast and Lunch
Manage all point-of-sale transactions during both breakfast and lunch periods. Ensure accuracy and speed at checkout, maintain a friendly and professional demeanor, and support smooth transitions between service times.
Grocery Operations & Inventory Management
Monitor the Ends Meat grocery section to ensure shelves are clean, well-organized, and consistently stocked. Replenish non-perishable and specialty items daily and coordinate with team leads for resupply needs.
Opening Procedures
Independently open the shop in accordance with established SOPsthis includes unlocking, performing cleanliness checks, equipment startup, cash register setup, and general readiness for the day.
Customer Engagement & Guest Services
Act as a welcoming presence for customers. Provide helpful information about menu items, grocery products, and the Ends Meat mission. Uphold Ends Meats standard of excellence in hospitality.
Support FOH Operations
Work collaboratively with the kitchen and FOH teams to ensure the shop runs smoothly. Provide support in other areas of service and operations as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
1+ years of relevant customer service, hospitality, or cashier experience
Strong communication skills and a professional, team-oriented attitude (bilingual Spanish speakers are desired to reflect the local Sunset Park neighborhood)
Ability to take initiative and work independently during opening hours
Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs
Basic proficiency with POS systems (training will be provided)
Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and food safety
Compensation and Benefits
Starting hourly wage: $16.50/hour
