Compensation: $19.00 - $21.00/hour
POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Receptionist is responsible for greeting and interacting with all Space Foundation customers, internal and external, both in person and over the telephone.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provides excellent customer service and a welcoming atmosphere to our customers
- Greets visitors promptly, informatively, enthusiastically, and respectfully
- Opens and closes the lobby
- Answers all incoming calls professionally and within three rings, and assists the callers by asking pertinent questions to determine the team member to whom it is appropriate to direct the call
- Directs calls to voicemail and/or transcribes messages to be sent to any team members who are unavailable to receive calls
- Processes incoming mail and distributes it to the appropriate team members
- Records checks, receives, and prepares deposit summaries for the Finance & Accounting department
- Processes deposits electronically or in person as needed
- Handles returned mail by contacting the addressees for updated information and correcting database records, as needed
- Provides support to other team members on various special projects that do not require departure from the reception desk, such as mail merges and mailings, index tabs and/or file preparation, typing/transcription, data entry support, etc.
- Assists the Space Foundation Discovery Center Admissions Desk with ticket sales and gift shop purchases as needed
- Responds to questions and inquiries about group sales and field trips
- Create, troubleshoot, monitor, report on and respond to questions regarding event registrations
- Performs other duties and/or projects as may be assigned.
COMPETENCIES:
The following briefly describes the knowledge, skills, abilities, and characteristics associated with this position, including any required experience, education, licensure, certification, or combination thereof:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum 2 years' experience at a reception desk with a multi-line phone system, preferably Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is required.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook email and calendar applications is required.
- Experience with Mitel, multi-function printer/copiers, and HubSpot is preferred
- Excellent command of the English language, with outstanding oral and written communication skills is required.
A comfortable, polished manner when speaking to our customers is essential. The Receptionist must have a professional attitude and appearance, the ability to cope with stressful situations, and the flexibility to interact with a wide variety of people, including distinguished visitors. Also of importance are the abilities to prioritize work, to complete tasks in a timely manner, to multi-task, and to be mindful of details (particularly when those details must be noted and passed on to others).

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Individuals in this position will generally work indoors and will have a designated and/or shared workspace. Necessary office furnishings, equipment and supplies will be provided by the Foundation. While performing the duties of this job, the team member may periodically be required to work outdoors and would be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The team member may periodically be required to work in an offsite environment or at special events, and from time-to-time may be asked to travel on Foundation business, at the Foundation's expense. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
JOB STATUS:
- FLSA Classification: This position is non-exempt according to guidelines of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and, as such, an individual in this position is eligible to receive overtime pay.
- Full- or Part-Time: This position is full-time in nature. An individual in this position will regularly work a schedule consisting of 40 hours per week.
- Work Location: This position's primary worksite is the headquarters location in Colorado Springs, CO. The nature and responsibilities of this position are such that it is not eligible for alternative worksite arrangements, such as working from home or telecommuting.
- Regular Schedule: Usual business days are Monday through Friday, holidays excepted, and usual business hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. in the time zone in which the position is located. The nature and responsibilities of this position are such that Saturdays and evening events may be required to fulfill programmatic obligations.
