Van Andel Institute's Facilities Departmentis seeking to hire afull-timeHousekeeper. The Mission of the Facilities Department is to create and maintain a "Best in Class" facility that exceeds customer expectations. This is accomplished by providing a clean, comfortable, functional working environment where employees can achieve their professional goals and focus on the work at hand.

As aHousekeeper,you will be responsible for ensuring the Institute maintains a neat, clean, safe and sanitary environment. This will include, but is not limited to, the following functions:

• Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing floors

• Dusting (ceilings, vents, drapery, cubicles, stairwells etc.) and shampooing furniture

• Empty wastebaskets, recycling, cardboard etc.

• Utilizing various kinds of equipment, tools, cleaning materials and supplies

• Record supply inventory

• Room set up and special event set-up

• Other duties as assigned

DESCRIPTION OF THE IDEAL HOUSEKEEPER:

• A High School Diploma/GED

• General housekeeping experience in an academic, hospital, medical office, or laboratory setting

• Verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work in a team environment

• Ability to work with minimal supervision

POSITION STATUS AND SALARY

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The hourly rate for this position will be commensurate with relevant work experience and other qualifications. This position is also eligible for our highlygenerous compensationpackage.

SCHEDULE

This position is considered first shift and will be in the main VAI facility located at 333 Bostwick NE: 4:00 am - 12:00 pm Monday-Friday
