Restaurant Manager

Reports to General Manager; position is exempt.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a passionate and energetic leader who thrives in the dynamic and often unpredictable world of restaurant management. You excel at controlling chaos while making every guest feel uniquely valued. Your mission is delivering an unmatched guest experience, but you also deeply value your team's input, development, and wellbeing. You flourish in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, inspiring confidence, respect, and enthusiasm in those around you. Highly organized and adaptable, you meet deadlines with a calm and professional demeanor, motivating your team to embrace collaboration and execute with excellence.

THE ROLE

The Restaurant Manager reports directly to the Director of Food + Beverage. It is critical the person in this position is tactical and strategic; if you only prefer to "see the forest" and not "plant the trees," then this is not a role for you. All leaders of Aparium are required to get down and dirty to unearth existing needs and personally ensure what needs to be fixed is repaired. We are a young company that is in hyper-growth, so having the ability to be a soldier is as critical as being a general.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll lead all F&B outlets: Coffee Shop, Pom Court, and May Peel. This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on involvement-you must be comfortable "planting the trees" as well as "seeing the forest." You'll guide and support your team to deliver seamless breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner services across the outlets. As a visible leader, you'll engage with associates and guests throughout the day, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and exceptional service. You'll work closely with Culinary and other departments, driving operational success while modeling Aparium's standards of service and hospitality. As a leader within Aparium Hotel Group, you will work with a phenomenal group of peers who insist that you are collaborative, humble, experienced, and open-minded - no egos are allowed. The Restaurant Manager will maintain and execute the Standards of Service for the Restaurant, assuring success for the guest experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Uphold and model the company's principles of People, Place and Character; and ensure your team also models the way our values drive collaboration, intuition and translocal hospitality
  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, coach, and motivate all F&B associates to foster a supportive environment and develop future leaders
  • Manage dining room set-up, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food and beverage standards in coordination with Culinary
  • Review reservations and cover counts daily to plan appropriate staffing and station assignments
  • Build and maintain strong guest and VIP relationships, ensuring guest requests are clearly communicated and fulfilled
  • Oversee inventory management, minimizing breakage and loss of restaurant assets
  • Inspect and maintain cleanliness and functionality of all dining and service areas
  • Support other F&B departments as needed, ensuring smooth cross-department collaboration
  • Maintain regular communication with the F&B Management team to provide updates, discuss plans, communicate needs, and align on priorities, understanding that flexibility with your responsibilities is paramount to support a successful operation.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Passion for the People, Place and Culture of our community, love of Restaurants and Guest Service also required.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in restaurant or hotel food & beverage management; hotel or restaurant opening experience is a strong plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other business-related software
  • Expert knowledge, or ability to quickly learn, reservation platforms (OpenTable, Tock) and POS system Toast
  • Strong skills in reporting, inventory control, labor management, and budgeting
  • Certification or ability to obtain Alcohol Awareness (TiPS) and Food Handlers (ServSafe) within 30 days of hire
  • Deep understanding of food & beverage offerings, including preparation, ingredients, and service standards
  • Expertise in wine and spirits with the ability to train and inspire staff
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in extreme temperatures (freezers and kitchens) for extended periods

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate diverse teams
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality in sensitive matters
  • Business acumen with ability to analyze data and financials to drive operational success
  • Collaborative leadership style-humble, open-minded, and focused on team and guest satisfaction
  • Willingness to be hands-on and "get your hands dirty" to identify and resolve challenges
  • Commitment to continuous learning and adapting best practices for sustained improvement
