Minimum of one year of custodial experience

Bilingual in Navajo and English preferred

Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Assists with scheduling and day to day supervision of other custodians. Performs custodial duties and minor repairs, assists in sanitation control and checks for security and safety hazards. Provides and maintains a clean, safe and comfortable environment within assigned areas.

Plans and coordinates, in cooperation with building Principals, the work schedules and duties of day and/or night custodians.

Assists in the monitoring and evaluation of custodial staff.

Ensures that adequate custodial supplies are available.

Assists with the communication of District information to custodial staff.

Communicates with teachers and other school staff about custodial and scheduling issues.

Cleans school buildings, grounds areas including sidewalks, locker rooms and other areas.

Sweeps, dusts, vacuums, scrubs, shampoos, waxes and polishes floors; cleans rooms, corridors, halls, chalkboards and operates cleaning equipment.

Washes windows, walls, woodwork and equipment.

Empties interior and exterior trash receptacles.

Moves furniture and equipment for cleaning and special events.

Performs minor maintenance services.

Reports safety hazards and needs for major repairs.

Assists with building security and reports unusual situations or concerns with student safety or conduct.

Ensures sanitation and cleanliness of rest room facilities.

Ensures that cleanliness and safety are maintained at entrances to facilities.

Keeps trash, leaves and other litter and refuse cleared from the grounds.

Inventories supplies and equipment in assigned work area.

Maintains proper key count and reports key violations or losses.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Valid Driver’s License required.

First Aid and CPR certificate preferred

Occasional stooping, bending and/or light lifting

Occasional discomforts and/or risks from exposure to noise or dirt and dust
