JOB SUMMARY

Perform routine food service activities related to the setting up of serving areas and the serving of food to students and staff; performs all duties of Food Service Assistant I and will perform duties of Food Service Assistant II. FSA II also responsible for maintaining cleanliness of food service facilities. As FS II, includes driving, cashier and assisting head cook.

EDUCATION

Basic Reading and Writing

QUALIFICATIONS Ability to follow oral and written instructions. KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Standard kitchen equipment, utensils and measurements.
  • Basic math and cashiering skills.
  • Sanitation practices related to handling and serving food.
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
  • Proper lifting techniques

ABILITY TO:

  • Serve food in accordance with TDEA, health and sanitation regulations.
  • Learn and follow health and sanitation requirements.
  • Maintain food service equipment and areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
  • Learn and apply policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Meet schedules and time lines.
  • Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Work cooperatively with others. Lift heavy objects.

Have the ability to work well with people and have a good relationship with customers. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare food service facilities for the serving of food; count and set out an appropriate number of food trays; prepare the steam table for serving hot meals.

Cashiers are responsible for collecting payment, preparing documentation for various reports, maintain free and reduced meal database, and submitting funds according to established procedures. departmentprocesses.

Maintain work areas and serving areas in a clean, sanitary and safe condition; wash and clean counters and steam tables; wash and store pots, pans, trays and kitchen equipment.

Heat, portion and serve food to students and staff according to established procedures.

Drivers are responsible for maintaining a clean and valid driver's license.

Driving report i.e. license number must be submitted to HR. Delivery to all locations; policies and designated areas for delivery must be adhere to.

  1. Ability to maintain confidentiality of students and self.

Ability to assist head cook in all aspects from meal preparations to cooking. 8.

Operate a variety of standard kitchen equipment such as a cash register, dishwasher, and ovens; report faulty equipment as necessary. 9. Must complete and update required annual training including food handler certification. Maintain regular attendance. 10. Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.

Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.

Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.

Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.

Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds.
