Position Summary:
Responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas. Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis as assigned.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, and equipment and mopping floors with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
- Replenishes supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items.
- Gathers and disposes of trash, washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers, and relines with plastic bags.
- Uses damp, disinfectant-treated cloth and vacuum cleaner to dust windowsills, windows, blinds, floors, furniture, and equipment in an orderly fashion.
- Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls in bathroom.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains and submits orders to maintain an adequate inventory cleaning supplies.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Job Requirements
Education Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience Preferred:
- Previous cleaning experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Verbal and Written Skills Required to perform the Job:
Able to read and write, how to measure cleaning solutions, and be alert to hazards. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:
Use of common housecleaning implements, such as mops, floor waxes, and scouring pads.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs). Prolonged or extensive standing and walking. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching. Maybe required to work in precarious or high locations (ladders, scaffolding etc). Must be able to endure long hours of continuous work when called upon to do so.
Universal Requirements:
