CLEANER

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is routine work requiring efficient performance of simple and repetitive cleaning tasks. The work is performed under direct supervision. Does related work as required.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

Sweeps and mops floors; Vacuums rugs;

Cleans windows, walls, woodwork, tables, furniture, water closets, tubs and bowls;

Replenishes soap, paper towels and other supplies as necessary; Empties waste baskets and disposes of trash;

Varnishes, shellacs, and polishes furniture and brass; Moves tables and chairs to accommodate activities.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERICS:

Good knowledge of cleaning practices, supplies and equipment, as well as the ability to use them efficiently and economically;

Ability to understand and follow simple oral directions; Ability to get along well with others;
