Lardon in Logan Square is looking to expand our team and seeking a full time HYBRID Barista/Server . This role is to open the restaurant's cafe as a Barista and then will transition to the Floor Sever when lunch service begins.

Lardon ( Michelin Bib Gourmand 2022-24), highlights cured meats, artisanal cheeses, sandwiches and coffee in an old world style cafe environment. Our newly launched dinner service is our take on coastal French fare, with Midwestern sourced ingredients. Rooted in the Logan Square neighborhood, Lardon is looking for a dedicated and driven executive chef who enjoys fostering a team environment and communicating our passion for artisanal food and drinks. Our cured meat and whole animal butchery program has become respected across the city, focusing on all salumi made in house in our one-of-a-kind curing room. Eclectic worldly wines, apertivo cocktails, amari, and local beers are hand selected to be paired with our one of a kind menu.

THE IDEAL SERVER: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Bartending and cocktail experience preferred but not required.
  • Candidates must have relevant experience within the hospitality industry. A strong knowledge base and passion for artisanal foods, cured meats and cheeses, wine and cocktails is paramount.
  • You can multitask and feel comfortable wearing multiple hats as you guide guests through their time with us, managing the pace and sequence of service, creating an overall exceptional guest experience.
  • People ask for you by name because they loved having you as their server last time.
  • Servsafe and basset/TIPS certified.
  • Experience in high volume/fast pace is a plus.
  • Open availability is a plus.

THE IDEAL BARISTA: Primary duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Working in a cafe environment geeking out over: pour over coffee, espresso, drip coffee, cold brew, along with iced and hot teas sounds like your slice of heaven.
  • Early riser to start the day bright and early.
  • You can teach a coffee 101 class and like to show off your skills.
  • You love interacting in a continued guest facing environment.
  • You stay busy during down times and are on top of pops in service for coffee needs
  • Your latte art is on-point.
  • You have proper knowledge of a dial in and pull.
  • You are experienced with espresso and craft coffee.
  • Comfortable working as a team with all of the Meadowlark Hospitality staff in order to foster a healthy work environment as well as a successful service.
  • Comfort in using TOAST system or coordinating POS system
Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($11.02) plus tips
