As a member of the Distribution Team , the Distribution Center Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the distribution center facility and outside grounds.

Position responsibilities:

• Ensures outside grounds are maintained and ready for visitors by: cleaning outside docks, entrance to building, parking lot, and sidewalks each morning; policing grounds daily noting and resolving problems; and salting or sanding steps and sidewalks leading into the building during snowy or icy weather.
• Ensures the warehouse is neat, orderly, and always ready for visitors by: dust-mopping daily; running floor machine weekly; emptying all trash and cardboard containers twice daily; vacuuming bulk product removing dust and dirt every other week; blowing out dust from under racks monthly making sure dust is not blown on other employees; and taking unusable pallets outside. Follows janitorial checklist making sure all items are handled.
• Maintains the janitorial supply room in a neat and orderly manner.
• Maintains the dumpster, cardboard container, and plastic container areas in clean and safe manner.
• Maintains a safe work environment by working in a safe manner, following current Distribution safety rules, and maintaining a clean work area.
• Completing any additional tasks or duties designated by the Distribution Center Supervisor.
• May assist the Receiving Department as needed with processing, stocking, and replenishing products on shelves.

Position requirements:

• Less than high school education; up to one-month related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
• Ability to carry out written and oral instructions.
• Ability to maintain a neat and clean work area.
• Ability to get along with others in the workplace.
• Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally required to lift up to 70 pounds.
