POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Creates an environment in which members can achieve their healthy living goals by maintaining, repairing, and assisting with the purchasing of various types of exercise equipment and audio/visual systems for the Wellness Departments at all centers. Additionally, this position will assist in planning for annual shut down, advise on equipment needs with consideration for planning wellness spaces for future innovation and growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Updates and maintains a Preventative Maintenance schedule and services for health and fitness equipment and AV systems.
Repair malfunctioning equipment in accordance with Shop Order Procedures or as directed.
Travel between all centers for repairs and maintenance as well as schedule walk throughs with Healthy Living Directors and Branch Executives as preventative maintenance and to keep a pulse on wellness spaces.
Ensure smooth transition of new equipment, causing minimal disruption to the member experience.
Assist Healthy Living Directors with equipment manufacturer sales and engineering to ensure safety and proper function of equipment and maintenance repair at each center.
Assist Senior Healthy Living Director with the equipment maintenance budget including fixed assets while maintaining equipment inventories.
Coordinate trade-ins of equipment and proper disposal of equipment with no trade value.
Train staff in proper use and cleaning of equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have aptitude and working knowledge and/or experience in electrical, electronic, audio/visual, and general equipment maintenance. This is generally gained through at least 2 years of work experience.
Associate Degree in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical Repair (technician) or equivalent preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience.)
Computer skills required.
Valid drivers' license and reliable vehicle required to service equipment at all centers.
