Job Summary:
The Assistant Chief Maintenance Engineer supports the Chief Engineer in overseeing all aspects of hotel maintenance and engineering operations. This includes preventative maintenance, repair work, and ensuring all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems are operating efficiently and safely. The role requires hands-on involvement and leadership to maintain a high standard of safety, functionality, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in managing the daily operations of the maintenance department.
Support, train, and supervise maintenance team members.
Perform and monitor preventative maintenance programs and work orders.
Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems, ensuring prompt repairs.
Ensure all safety, health, and environmental procedures are followed.
Coordinate with other departments for timely response to guest and operational needs.
Maintain logs, reports, and inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
Step in for the Chief Engineer in their absence.

Requirements

Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in hotel or facilities maintenance, with leadership responsibilities a must.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Hands-on, proactive, and guest-focused.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergencies.
- Certification or licensure in a technical trade a plus (e.g., HVAC, electrical).
