- General Summary of Position:
High -limit Bartenders are to prepare and provide proper and professional beverage service to all guests, cocktail staff and all others in a friendly, courteous and timely manner. Act as a cashier for the beverage outlet. All duties are to ensure Grand Sierra Resort's Top tier guests receive a quality product and Exceptional service.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Be a fully engaged ambassador of GSR: promote property, knowledge of all aspects of the property and its events. Ability to relay this information in a positive and excitable manner.
Work as a liaison between Casino VIP services, table games, Slot Dept and all others applicable
Ensure the highest possible standards of guest service are provided and ability to listen and respond to guest and fellow team members concerns and questions
Respond to guest complaints in a considerate, positive and empathetic manner which displays concern for their complaint and seek out solutions
Knowledge, understanding, and adherence to company and departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to promote and document orders for drinks, reciting selections of all call and premium brands as requested. Requires memorization of all available drinks, mixes, garnishes and portions. Knowledge of drink recipes and product
Knowledge of computerized register. Ability to input orders into a point of sale register and create a check for each guest or group, including those served by cocktail server. Must maintain account ability of all beverages served. Ability to count change.
Responsible for Cash Bank.
Ability to take food orders, assist with food displays
Maintain proper and adequate set-up of bar on a daily basis including before, during and after shift.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of guest areas and equipment at all times during shift including: removing empty glasses/bottles, cleaning ashtrays, picking up and dumping garbage, sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing equipment
Maintain an organized bar
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items and hotel services.
Greet guests in a courteous, friendly manner. Great guest service skills. Ability to interact with the public. Ability to have and make conversation.
Ability to use a liquor gun, pour draft beer, open beer and wine bottles.
Knowledge of department pouring procedures
Arrange of back bar, bottles and glassware, to make an attractive display
Knowledge of various comp items at different outlets
Knowing and conveying hotel activities to guests
Know guidelines for serving alcohol with care
Perform specific tasks as assigned: organizing, ordering, stocking and cleaning.
Ability to lift and carrying product by hand as well as with carts or hand trucks
Maintain and refill chemicals such as hand soap or glass washer chemicals
Ability to operate a glassware washer
Ability to re-fill ice bins and beer bins, utilizing ice machines
Maintain proper inventory of product
Maintain and neat, professional image and appearance at all times
Answering the phone

For Consideration, Candidate must meet the following:
Minimum 1-2 years previous years of Bartender Experience Required
Previous Money handling/Customer service experience preferred
Alcohol Awareness Training
Analytical Skills:
Bartenders must have the analytical skills to manage their time while performing a multitude of tasks.

Consequences of Error
Procedural errors can occur intermittently. Bartenders with numerous or severe errors are subject to disciplinary action.
