ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, 7:30a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Must be available to work extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities
- Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of various wastewater treatment plants & lift stations mechanical equipment.
- Perform maintenance on existing mechanical equipment by troubleshooting and repairing pumps, motors, and blowers and other mechanical equipment.
- Align various mechanical drives and associated equipment throughout the Utilities Department.
- Maintain pumping and lift stations, and wastewater treatment plants, equipment, and other wastewater facilities.
- Improve operations by generating work orders to address discrepancies or conditions and make recommendations.
- Maintain all required documentation in the currently used work management system.
- Establish schedules.
- Report all discrepancies which interfere with proper operation of the facility.
- Maintain mechanical operations by inspecting and evaluating lift stations daily.
- Participate in field testing, equipment start-up, verification of operating performance, shutdowns and system troubleshooting.
- Ensure grounds, buildings, and equipment is maintained in a neat and clean condition.
- Perform basic cutting torch and stick rod arc welding work.
- Occasionally act as lead worker over lesser experienced Maintenance Technicians.
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Position requires High School Degree or GED
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience
- Must be able to obtain Confined Space Entry certification within 6 months of hire
- A valid Class B CDL License is required within 6 months of hire
- Ability to be proficient at operating and rigging hydraulic truck mounted cranes and overhead cranes.
- Must be familiar with Confined Space Safety and hazardous conditions.
- A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Basis of Rating
Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
