A professional couple in Chicago, Illinois (Lincoln Park) is seeking an experienced, top-tier, Full-Time Laundress/Housekeeper for their family of five. The children are ages 17, 15 and 12. The Monday - Friday schedule is very flexible with a mid morning start time and an early eve end time with 40 hours/week guaranteed. Ideal Candidate Requirements: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a high-end or private household Expertise in garment care, fabrics, stain treatments, and fine laundry techniques Impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills Discretion and professionalism; respects family privacy at all times Fluent in English with excellent communication skills Strong work ethic, self-starter, and proactive problem solver Primary Responsibilities: Laundry & Wardrobe Care Manage all laundering for the family, including washing, ironing, steaming, folding, and proper storage Expert care of high-end garments (cashmere, silk, designer labels, delicate fabrics) Manage dry cleaning (tracking, drop-off/pick-up coordination) Organize and maintain closets and seasonal wardrobe rotations Minor repairs/sewing (buttons, hems, etc.) as needed Housekeeping Maintain cleanliness and order in designated areas of the home (kitchen, bedrooms, laundry room, common areas) Deep cleaning on a rotating basis (e.g., baseboards, windows, appliances) Light organization and tidying (toys, pantry, linens) Assist with household errands when needed (stocking supplies, occasional grocery runs) Coordinate with vendors or other household staff as needed. Family employs a Full Time Executive Housekeeper and Household Manager. There are no pets in the home. Very desirable competetive salary and benefit package. Long-term commitment desired. Role Starts: ASAP/Flexible Required Qualifications: Age: Candidates must be at least 21 years old. Experience: Related work experience is required along with verifiable references. Candidates may have a broad range of experience, but it MUST pertain to the position you are applying for. We require at least 2-3 verifiable references. Letters of recommendation from previous employers are preferred. Driving Record: A driver's license is required for most positions and a motor vehicle investigation is completed prior to placement. Criminal Background: A criminal background investigation is completed on all candidates prior to placement. Residency Requirement: All candidates must furnish proof of US citizenship or eligibility to work as a legal alien. Commitment: Typically, candidates must be willing to commit for at least 1 year with a family. Occasionally, temporary and summer placements are requested.
