Janitor Job Description We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented janitor to maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout our facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for pulling trash, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, wiping down and dusting surfaces, and performing tasks such as stripping and waxing floors. The role requires physical activity including lifting 20 pounds and performing repetitive tasks, as well as climbing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and reaching. Responsibilities Perform daily cleaning throughout the facility, including cleaning kitchen/break rooms, vacuuming office areas, stocking and cleaning restrooms, and sweeping/scrubbing warehouse floor. Ensure trash is pulled and disposed of appropriately. Maintain cleanliness in restrooms by stocking supplies and performing routine cleaning. Vacuum office areas and dust surfaces regularly. Strip and wax floors as needed. Perform other custodial duties as required. Essential Skills Janitorial and housekeeping skills. Ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision. Physical capability to lift 20 pounds and perform repetitive tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 0-2 years of relevant experience. Work Environment This position is primarily indoors, working during the day and occasionally at night in environmentally controlled conditions. It involves occasional exposure to airborne dust and requires tasks to be performed in close proximity to other people. The work surface is stable and flat. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HANOVER, Maryland. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
