Housekeeper (2nd Stewardess) - Private Family Estate Location: Seacoast of NH We are seeking a meticulous and adaptable Housekeeper (2nd Stewardess) to maintain the pristine condition of our family estate, guest quarters, and office spaces. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, a proactive approach to household management, and a willingness to support various estate operations. Responsibilities: General Housekeeping: Perform a wide range of cleaning tasks including tidying, dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, garbage disposal, and bed-making. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with set standards and promptly report any discrepancies. Assist with the care and maintenance of cleaning equipment and alert the house manager to supply needs. Stay updated on communication from supervisors regarding tasks, protocol updates, and schedules. Laundry and Wardrobe Management: Wash or arrange for dry cleaning of all estate-generated laundry, adhering to proper cleaning and pressing instructions. Maintain a log of items sent off-premises for cleaning and ensure their return meets quality standards. Organize and return all items to their designated areas within closets and wardrobe storage spaces. Ensure consistency in the arrangement of clothing, accessories, and other items for easy access and visual appeal. Assistance to Principals: Provide morning clean-up and evening turn-down service for bedrooms. Aid in packing for trips, including placing purses and shoes in provided cover bags. Assist with seasonal transitions of clothing and decor. Support hospitality tasks upon request, such as dinner service or event setup and cleanup. Additional House Maintenance: Handle specialized cleaning tasks, including the care of delicate surfaces, valuable artwork or antiques, and items with unique requirements. Provide assistance for various estate tasks and projects as directed by the House Manager or the Principal. Adhere to additional maintenance schedules detailed in the housekeeping calendar and Estate Manual, including deep cleaning and bi-annual tasks. Pertaining to all Estate Staff: This role requires flexibility and adaptability to address unforeseen circumstances and meet the evolving needs of the Principals, their family, and the estate. All roles may be required to assist with a range of tasks beyond core responsibilities to ensure smooth operation and security. Additional duties may include: Adhering to beginning and end-of-day procedures. Assisting with household tasks, errands, and special projects. Providing support during events or gatherings, including transportation logistics or security arrangements. Assisting in emergency response and crisis management. Supporting other members of the estate team and providing backup when needed. Adapting to special requests or unexpected changes in plans. We emphasize teamwork and collaboration to ensure all aspects of the Principals' and their family's needs are met effectively and efficiently.
