Job Opening: Full-time Church Custodian

**First United Methodist Church, San Angelo, TX**

Position Summary:

First United Methodist Church is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented **Custodian** to join our team. This full-time position (40 hours per week) is responsible for the general cleanliness, upkeep, and presentation of all church facilities.

Job Details:

- Schedule:

40 hours/week

- Work Hours:

Typically, 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch

- Weekend Availability:

Required, including rotating Sundays and special event Saturdays

- Compensation:

$12-$15 per hour, based on experience. Overtime will be paid if necessary

- Benefits:

Health benefits available after 90 days of employment

Requirements:

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

- Must pass a background check and provide references

- Reliable and available to work full-time, including weekends as scheduled

- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

Responsibilities may include:

- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and furniture

- Clean and restock restrooms and other facilities

- Set up and tear down for worship services, meetings, and special events

- Empty trash and recycling bins regularly

- Maintain cleaning supplies and report any maintenance or supply needs

- Assist with basic maintenance tasks as needed

- Ensure entrances and walkways are clean and safe (including snow/ice removal if applicable)

- Secure buildings after events and at the end of shifts
