# Short Order Cook Job Description
## Overview
We are seeking a skilled and efficient Short Order Cook to join our fast-paced kitchen team. The primary responsibilities include preparing high-quality burgers, sandwiches, and chicken wings in a timely manner while maintaining excellent food safety and quality standards.
## Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook burgers, sandwiches, and chicken wings according to menu specifications and customer preferences.
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, and toasters safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Manage inventory and restock ingredients as needed during shifts.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service during busy periods.
- Handle special customer requests and dietary accommodations when necessary.
- Follow recipes and preparation techniques to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
## Qualifications
- Previous experience as a short order cook or in a similar fast-paced kitchen environment preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., ServSafe certification is a plus).
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a hot, fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
## Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Comfortable working in a hot kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and noise.
