Job Duties

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center; named for two Medal of Honor recipients - Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter - provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia's Veterans. This single-level facility features 200 single-occupancy rooms across three nursing units.

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for a part-time Housekeeper/Porter for the 3P-1130P Shift, this will include some weekends.

Job Duties Include:

  • Ensuring the facility is kept clean by dusting, mopping, sweeping, damp/wet mopping, polishing, scrubbing, vacuuming, trash removal and for the removal of bio-hazard waste.
  • Keeping their assigned areas clean and attractive
  • Promoting sanitary conditions to prevent the spread of infection
  • Ensuring all equipment is in working order
  • Completing their daily routine however, each staff member is cross-trained in all other areas of Environmental Services and can be asked to perform other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

1 Year Prior Housekeeping experience required.

Additional Considerations

Experience working in a long-term care facility or hospital preferred.

Experience stripping and waxing floors, extracting and bonnet cleaning of carpets.
