This position is staffed in the Wilson Equipment Shop
- Employee performs a variety of physical labor tasks requiring some knowledge and experience in their particular work assignments.
- Work is performed with only general supervision in repetitive and routine assignments and may be closely supervised when assisting higher level tradesman in performing more complex work.
- Examples of duties are helping load and unload tires, assist mechanics as needed, keeping offices, shop and shop yard clean.
- Cleaning and polishing floors, mowing grass, pickup and delivery of parts and mail within division.
Applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:
- Experience using small hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, post hole diggers, hammer, screwdriver, torch, etc.
- Experience operating power tools such as lawn mowers, hand trimmers, air compressors, chainsaw, weed eater, skill saw, drill, etc.
- Experience performing manual labor .
Additional Expectations:
Some knowledge of the application of trade skills to the duties assigned. Skills in the use and care of equipment and tools used in performing work assignments and the ability to follow oral work assignments. Physical strength sufficient enough to move relatively heavy objects and to work at heavy manual tasks for considerable periods of time. Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments. Valid North Carolina Drivers License required. Position will require bending and walking on uneven terrain. Ability to perform duties of position in accordance with all safety regulations. May be required to work during non-traditional work hours, including nights, weekends, holidays and times of emergency.
